A shadowbox tribute to Edgar Allan Poe January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849.

The illustration is a print of one of my original drawings as are the ravens. The paper in the inner frame and on the altar is all acid free scrapbook paper. The flowers on the altar are paper.

Ofendas are an essential part of the Day of the Dead celebrations. The word ofrenda means offering in Spanish. They are also called altares or altars, but they are not for worshiping. Ofrendas are set up to remember and honor the memory of their ancestors. I have taken to making these ofrendas for iconic actors and famous people who inspire me.
